Deeper below

Quiet down under

Long lost echoes of someone's beloved swallow the words,
the throat is tight and fills itself with shallow phrases,
breathing becomes harder as the water passes by,
while feet lose steady ground at a growing rate.

Promises crumble under the weight of faith and truth,
dreams become shadows of once strongly desired things,
now even movement seems out of reach as pain evokes,
flushing in waves and pulling the soul away.

Deeper and deeper below, the vortex becomes stronger,
makes love and hope fade into schemes with no meaning,
while the body is chained and weighed down with stones,
stones carrying pain and pity gained in a life never lived.

Immersed in quietness floats the body along the hollow,
where nothing ever happens as steady deterioration takes place,
every inch of mind and soul are quenched
as the body hits the ground with no pain nor regret.

A strange warmth covers the wounds inside both soul and mind,
transforms the completely destroyed shield to recover once again,
only a little aching reminds the newborn of long forgotten lives.

These lives lived in deep agony are necessary for every human being
to finally grasp the understanding about every wonder in life,
which only shine so powerful in the moments of most desperation...
