Child of the winds
Lightning haunts the empty streets, fills the lonely hours with dancing figures made of light. Rain rattles at windows and doors, leaves traces of water in small cracks in the wood. Voices from forgotten times echo, hollow and strangely beautiful do they intermingle with the peaceful sound of the dripping. One lonely wanderer with the speed of a thunderbolt rushes across the familiar pathways that he once left behind. His legs tremble as the wind pushes him aside, but he stays strong, keeps his vision ahead and pushes only further forward.
For he was born in the steepest mountains, where harsh winds and hourlong rainfalls greeted him, his mother kissed him upon his cheek as the sky was alighted with the blue flashing lights. He loved and caressed the smallest creatures the forest would bring forth while their energy floated inside him. A stroke of thunder and lightning covered his body like a shield, made him powerful and assertive.
So that the storm that was now trying to block him only fueled the cells in his body receptive to the ethereal flow of power. His heart throbbed against his neck as he called upon the nebulous darkness that was soaring from the buildings and fortresses. Human hands had created the walls to get protection from nature's force but this protection changed into domination and the wish to have the power for adapting the free spirits into the scheme needed.
Heavily breathing did he lean to a wall, as nature send more and more destruction out to end human's rule. In a flash of the lightning he saw an image of his mother, as she was pushed to death because she couldn't cope with the rush and fastpaced rhythm of humanity anymore. For he was a child of the winds, he was not able to feel attached to anyone, but himself and his high-risen standards. He onnce fell deeply for a girl of strong consistence, a child of the earth, but she was too concerned with nature's downfall and too anxious of losing her stand so she chose to follow the same way his mother did.
Stormborn, he finally opened his eyes again to face the demons mankind was about to create, he collected all his force to envision nature and her free spirits, to build her a fortress, for she was the enchantress of his dreams and longings. Despite all his efforts to support nature, he had to give in under the burden, which was too heavy to carry on his own.
Had he just used his easygoing character to assemble more humans with the same concerns, he might have succeeded, but lonely as the storm that his birth accompanied was he forced to leave the problems to the next generation...
